This course is designed for the newcomer into the world of alpacas who has just recently purchased their first animals.

The course will cover advanced herd health and management, handling and haltering tips and techniques, advanced breeding and birthing, cria care and fibre skirting and sorting.

Alpacas for Dummies

Saturday, November 20, 2010 - 8 am to 6 pm

This course is designed for anyone considering the purchase of alpacas or who has recently purchased alpacas.

The course will cover topics such as:
• how to choose an alpaca
• nutrition/shelter requirements
• basic health requirements
• an overview of shearing
• fleece types and characteristics
• how to be successful in the show ring
• marketing
• basic genetics and breeding information
• and much, much more.

Lunch, dinner, snacks and beverages will be provided.
